A documentary crew lives with the schizophrenic residents of a group home, based on radical psychiatrist R. D. Laing's controversial approach to healing through compassion and freedom.  It’s an amazing document of attitudes to mental illness in the seventies, unexpectedly funny, full of drama, and hugely thought provoking. The lunatics really have taken over the asylum, and nobody seems more in need of compassionate treatment than Laing himself.
