Howard Slater, writer and researcher, will be in conversation with a panel of filmmakers with experience of making films collectively.

The workshop will look at what collectives need to do to run successfully, and the pitfalls and power struggles which can arise. Ludo Fales will talk about making films collaboratively in Kitchen Sink, a young filmmakers collective that seeks to support, provoke and encourage independent filmmakers (http://www.kitchensinkfilms.com/).. Jerry Rothwell, director of‘How to Change the World’ will talk about his experience of living and filming with the Greenpeace collective. Ellin Hare will discuss herexperience of running the film collective Amber, a film & photography collective whose work has centred on working class and marginalized communities in the North of England since the 1960s.
