Malcolm Phillips, a therapist who specialises in community therapeutic practices in unusual settings, will host a group discussion about director/contributor relationships.

Two sessions of 20 ppl max. Sign up at reception

1600 - 1800 Saturday 30th july

0930 - 1100 Sunday 31st July

The session will be a space for documentary filmmakers to fess up about their experiences with contributors.  The session will cover issues of exploitation, boundaries and power. How do you deal with those relationships?  When is it OK to film and transmit material which may negatively impact on the life of a contributor?  Who makes that decision?  What do you do with the relationships formed with your characters once the film is done? Do you have to be ruthless to be a filmmaker?  Oh yes!
