The Web short: Liz Mermin documentary filmmaker turned shorts commissioner and maker talks about the storytelling and skills in the short.

Sound as a Character: Nina Garthwaite documentary filmmaker and director of In The Dark, a travelling "cinema" for creative audio documentaries in conversation with Isis Thompson, documentary film and audio maker will explore ‘sound as character’ in both audio and video storytelling.

Sustaining Collectives: Howard Slater, writer and researcher, in conversation with a panel of filmmakers who are in collectives or have made films collectively.

Filming Revolution: Seminar with Alisa Lebow, filmmaker and academic on documentary and activism.

Contracts & Rights: Dominique Young, documentary producer, with Pauline Bickerton, entrepreneur turned artist in an interactive conversation with filmmakers on negotiating film rights and contracts.

Therapeutic Filmmakers Group: Malcolm Phillips, therapist specialised in the development of community therapeutic approaches in non-traditional settings, will convene a group discussion themed around the director/contributor relationship.


SPECIAL GUEST WORKSHOPS:

Ross McElwee – Filming with your Family: Ross will run a discussion surrounding the difficulties of making personal films and the fallout from it.

Penny Woolcock - Who represents whose struggles: Penny will discuss her experience of making 1 mile away as the white women filming 2 at war black gangs.
