Rose Dakuo has lived in Tottenham for nearly 20 years and is a community leader, running food banks, critical literacy classes and cooking classes for local families. In summer 2022, the developers swept in and took away her community space for expensive flats.

The workshop will have a short film about Rose’s latest struggle (20 mins) followed by a discussion about resisting gentrification. If gentrification is a form of social cleansing and apartheid, Rose argues we need similar resistance movements with other freedom struggles.
